    Great rock returns to the Circo Massimo: David Gilmour has just announced six shows scheduled to take place in Rome between September and October. For the former Pink Floyd it will be a live return to the ancient Roman stadium, where he already performed in 2016. The 78-year-old guitarist will perform on 27, 28 and 29 September and then again on 1, 2 and 3 October, just days after the release of his latest album "Luck And Strange".     David Gilmour was born in Cambridge on 6 March 1946. While still in his teens, he made the acquaintance of fellow citizens Roger Waters and Syd Barrett (later founders of Pink Floyd). With the latter, he attended the Cambridgeshire College of Arts and Technology and in the summer of 1965 hitchhiked to the South of France, where the pair performed on the streets playing guitar. Gilmour's first serious musical steps were in a band, Jokers Wild, which often crossed paths with Pink Floyd and was also quite successful locally. With the advent of the ‘Summer of Love’ in 1967, the group changed its name to Bullitt and then to Flowers, but despite some gigs in Spain and France, the adventure quickly came to an end with no great prospects on the horizon [...]
