Barolo (CN)
The Langhe is a geographical area located in southern Piedmont, between the provinces of Cuneo and Asti: together with Roero and Monferrato, this area has become the fiftieth Italian Unesco World Heritage site. The Langhe boasts some products that testify to Italian excellence in the food and wine sector; among these fine wines, truffles, hazelnuts, cheeses and fresh pasta. Often its wine production is compared to Burgundy, where very different cellars that are distinguished by size, landscape contexts and architectural structures. In the Langhe the soils, mainly calcareous, have different textures even at a distance of a few tens of meters: sometimes they are very loose and sandy; other times more tenacious and clayey.
